View source for VPN Error 734: The PPP Link Control Protocol Was Terminated

I encountered this problem using a VPN with PPTP. I tried the solutions but the main ones did not work.

==First vpn fixes==

*In the connections properties
**Network Tab > Settings
**Uncheck - Negotiate multi-link for single link connections
*In vpn connections main properties
**Security tab
**Check - Allow unsecured password


Although these were solutions that Microsoft offers, these did not work for me.

*In the connections properties
**Security tab
**Choose Advanced Custom Settings
**Click settings
**Uncheck everything except MS-CHAP v2
